GingerBread Cookies

Would Christmas really be Christmas without gingerbread cookies?!

Good afternoon sweet friends! I wanted to share with you my Grandma’s famous gingerbread cookie recipe! Soft in the centers, crisp on the edges, and super delicious!  This afternoon my girls and I were busy baking!! Rolling the dough, cutting out different shapes, and having so much fun!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tbs corn syrup
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp ground cloves

Directions

  • add all ingredients to a mixing bowl
  • mix well
  • roll out dough (don’t be afraid to flour your hands, rolling pin and work surface because the dough can become sticky as you work)
  • cut shapes with cookie cutters
  • place on cookie sheet with parchment paper
  • bake 5-8 min @375′ (I bake them for 7 min)
  • Enjoy!
  • (Girls tip.. Add a few seasonal sprinkles to make them look extra festive!!)

I hope you enjoy these cookies as much as our family does this holiday season!

XO

Lindsey
